Tomato curry with coconut gravy is a simply delicious side dish which can be made up very easily. Let's see how to prepare this side dish.
Ingredients
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds into it and let it splutter.
- Then add dry red chilly, curry leaves and sliced garlic to it and fry for few seconds.
- Add chopped onions. Stir it on medium flame till the onions become translucent.
- Add green chilly and chopped tomatoes to it. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt to make the cooking fast. Mix it well and cook till the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder and coriander powder. Mix all the spices and cook it on a medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
- Pour the coconut paste (for coconut paste: Grind grated coconut and cumin seeds to a paste with 1/2 cup of water) along with 2 cups of water to it and mix well.
- Add salt to taste. Bring it to boil. Cover the lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot as a side dish with chapati, poori and rice.
