- Eggshells can be easily removed from hard-boiled eggs if they are boiled in salty water and quickly rinsed in cold water.
- If you happen to over-salt a pot of soup or curry, just add peeled and diced potato in it and boil for 5 minutes. The potato will absorb the excess salt. After, remove the potato before serving.
- A few drops of lemon juice added to simmering rice will keep the grains separate.
- If you boil vegetables in water, do not throw the water. Use that to make gravies.
