Preparation
Preparation of avil mixture
  • Take avil, cashew nuts and coconut in a blender and blend it for few seconds.
  • Transfer this mixture into a small bowl and mix it with grated jaggery. Mix well.
Preparation of avil samosa
  • Take wheat flour, salt and ghee in another bowl and mix well.
  • Then add water little by little to this mixture and mix the flour to dough kneading lightly.
  • Take about 40 g of the dough (which needs to be rounded and sheeted to the desired thickness) and flatten this dough ball and begin to roll to a round shape.
  • Then place two to three spoon of avil mixture in the centre of the sheet and bring the edges together and make a pleat and join the edges to make a square.
  • Press gently to seal the square. Make sure the samosa has been sealed well. Finish making all the samosas.
  • Then heat oil in a pan and fry the samosas until they turn to be a golden colour. Serve avil samosa slightly hot.
Useful tips:
  • You can also use all-purpose flour instead of wheat flour.
